Girls Prep Opt Gymnastics

About program
NESA P.O.PS is a prep-opt gymnastics team program specifically designed for the NESA gymnasts who want to compete, but want an alternate to the traditional J.O level system (1-10), and want less of a time commitment.

We use all the national rules for Prep Opt based on 5 levels of competition, for ages 6-18 at meets and a stat meet with a minimum of 2 sanctioned meet attendances.


Rookie:

Basic 3 skills bar routine, rolls, cartwheels and roundoffs dominate. Similar to level 2-4

Novice:

Basic 5-7 skill bar routine, walkovers, handsprings dominate. Similar to level 4-6

Intermediate:

Medium level skills, including saltos and aerials. Similar to level 6-7

Advanced:

More complex skills including connected tumbling and giants on bars. Similar to level 8.

Superior:

Most advanced skills including tuck vaults, and twisting and tumbling. Similar to level 9-10.

  • Founder/director island gymnastics training school, Inc. A non-profit gym on Martha's Vineyard Since 1990.
