Learn the language of the ages!  This ancient tongue from Rome of bygone days remains alive and fresh today, embedded in the vocabulary of contemporary English.  The class will teach beginning grammar and vocabulary, all while exposing the student to some fun stories about Pompeii in A.D. 79, about ancient Britain and Alexandria, and early Roman civilization.  

Students must obtain the textbook series Cambridge Latin Course.

Nicholas Sterling
Dr. Nicholas Sterling a Ph.D. in ancient Greek & Roman civilization from Brown University, is a lecturer of Greek and Roman literature at University of Rhode Island and has been an after-school instructor of chess at Kennedy-Longfellow School in Cambridge, and Math Mania and Stock Market Game with Newton Community Education. Dr. Sterling provides one-on-one chess tutoring and is a Tournament Director at the Waltham Chess Club.
