Class Description
Krav Maga was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia as a way of fighting to survive during WWII. Imi Lichtenfield then migrated to Israel, where others knew of his fighting skills and asked him to develop a system of hand to hand combat that was effective and could be used to train troops from 15 to 50 years old, hence the birth of Krav Maga.

Krav Maga hones natural reflexes by using primarily explosive, gross muscle movements that are simple and effective. Krav Maga relies on these large muscle movements which are very powerful and explosive.

Krav Maga practitioners or Kravist's are conditioned to be strong and explosive through strenuous exercise and practice of simple techniques applied to other human beings. Krav Maga was originally a combination of boxing and savate, common European arts adapted for combat by Imi Lichtenfield for the Israeli Defense Forces.

Since it's inception, Krav Maga technique has been refined through the experiences of both Israeli Military and Police forces. Krav Maga as it is taught at NESA is sanctioned by an Israeli body, refined by IDF Soldiers and reservists.

I'm mother of a boy with autism that had a birthday party at NESA this past weekend. I wanted to say that Matt and Joe were absolutely wonderful with the children and I was really impressed by the way they worked with the group. The children had a great time. THANK YOU.
