Coach: Matt Haddad

Contact :    (781) 493 - 6345
Stacey Pirelli Matt Haddad has been playing lacrosse for 7 years. Currently he is a senior at Westwood high school and he plans to attend Boston College in the upcoming fall. He has been on high school lax team all four years and was the captain his Junior year.

Matt is very passionate when it comes to sports and in his short athletic career he already established himself as capable and result oriented coach ever since he first started teaching sports in 2005.

Matt not only intends on continuing playing lax throughout college, but hopes to continue coaching it as well is the local community as he has been doing for the past several years.

His theory on coaching focuses on establishing a friendly environment but also keeping it competitive to ensure an upbeat but productive learning experience. Matt says: " I love what I do which really comes out in my work, and the improvement in my students skills speak for themselves".
About The Program
  • A beginner is a player who has played the game for less than two years
  • Age, however, is a major factor. For example a player who is bigger, faster and more capable of understanding the concepts will progress much quicker than a player of a younger age and who has a more difficult time trying to interpret what it is they are taught
  • The Beginner program is an overview of basic fundamental skills and game concepts that players who have just picked up the game need to learn and understand in order to assure proper development in the game
  • The basic and fundamental skills exercised in the program are the skills in which even the top players in the sport to date work on day to day:
    • Stick work– The most important skill a player has. The longer a person has played and how often he practices is single handedly measured by his stick skills. (Catching-Throwing-Cradling
    • Every session is comprised of a handful of drills in which stick skills are constantly being worked on through-out this program.
    • We provide the players with a take home exercise that is the single most important practice exercise one can do while trying to grow as a lacrosse player. (WALL BALL)
Most importantly, in the beginner program we do our best to show the kids what a great and fun sport lacrosse is and how much it has to offer, as it is the fastest growing sport in the country.
