Jen comes to NESA with an extensive background in youth sports and child development. Jen was a dancer,
dance teacher and soccer player growing up in Connecticut and that love of sports followed her to Ithaca
College in Ithaca, NY where she earned her degree in Exercise Science and Recreation. During her time in
Ithaca, Jen coached indoor and outdoor youth soccer for 3 seasons, taught developmental lacrosse skills,
coached recreational gymnastics, volunteered at a children’s afterschool program and played Ultimate Frisbee.
After graduating she went back to CT where she ran a full-time preschool sports and movement program for a
large tennis/fitness center, taught dance classes, coached gymnastics at an up and coming club and coached
high school soccer. 2 ½ years ago Jen was looking for a new experience outside of CT when an opportunity
presented itself in Wellesley, MA. Jen joined the new team and helped develop the sports/activity program.
In addition to teaching between 20 and 30 classes a week and developing new programs/curricula she was a
valuable asset administratively. Jen joined the team at NESA in January of 2009 excited to bring her prior
experiences to all the NESA families and eager to work with all the families in the preschool program.
Today you can find Jen preparing many exciting programs for NESA, playing Ultimate Frisbee, nannying or
taking care of her many foster dogs.
Toddler, Preschool & Kindergarten Gymnastics
New England Sports Academy strives to create a training environment that will develop and enhance the
self-esteem and physical capability of all its participants (from toddler to adult) by providing coaches
who are professional and passionate. NESA offers classes for all ages and abilities: our toddler & preschool
gymnastics program gives children a solid foundation of gymnastics skills. In addition to gymnastics skills,
techniques and terms, classes have weekly educational themes that incorporate the teaching of colors, letters,
numbers and shapes. With the use of music, props and special equipment children have fun while increasing
strength, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, balance, social skills, listening skills and more. Our mission
is to provide a gymnastics experience for boys and girls that will boost their self image, confidence, and
interaction with others - we not only make better gymnasts, we make better people.
