Henry Shterenberg Carlos Semedo was born in Portugal and grew up there playing soccer as a child. His professional soccer career began at the age of 18 for the Clube de Futebol Estrela da Amadora in the Portuguese SuperLiga division 1. Carlos was a member of the Portuguese National team for U-18, U-20 and U-21. One of his greatest accomplishments is being a part of the Portuguese National team U-18, which won the European Soccer Championships. Carlos continued his professional soccer career in Europe until 2002 when he came to the United States to play for the New England Revolution. In addition to N.E. Revolution, Carlos also played for Rochester Raging Rhinos and the Syracuse Salty Dogs.

Carlos has been coaching children's soccer since 2003. Prior to joining NESA, Carlos coached for the Red Devils and Emigrantes Das Ilhas, a Portuguese league. "I am so happy to be a part of NESA's coaching staff. As a coach, it is my responsibility to teach young children the importance of playing in a team environment, and the importance of developing leadership skills that will help these kids their entire lives."

Our mission and goals
The mission of NESA Soccer Academy is to have its players fall in love with the game of soccer. With this love comes passion. With passion come focus, determination, and ambition to be the best. NESA Academy will prepare each player for higher levels of competition by laying down a foundation that begins with year-round training, goal setting, team building, and self-awareness.

The main objective of the soccer program at NESA is to give the child the opportunity to develop his or her skills through use of drills and demonstrations of proper technique, to create the perfect atmosphere for the child to enjoy a soccer experience without pressure. To achieve this goal each "player" is placed in an appropriate environment/open team/invitational team based on age and skill level. No matter the age, gender, or skill level we have the right class for your soccer star.

I'm mother of a boy with autism that had a birthday party at NESA this past weekend. I wanted to say that Matt and Joe were absolutely wonderful with the children and I was really impressed by the way they worked with the group. The children had a great time. THANK YOU.
